Airbrush makeup

Makeup Tips

* To cover blemishes using a brush, stroke a little concealer and no-color powder onto the brush and then apply to the blemish. It will stay better.
* Best way to cover tattoos is air brush method or sponge, with alcohol based foundation. (Temptu Cosmetics, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Kett Cosmetics) Careful though, it has to be removed with alcohol, so keep away from face and eyes. To cover tattoos or bruises use an orange under toned concealer that has good pigmentation then apply a stick or cream foundation with good coverage and match. If you need to, white out the tattoo and then apply full coverage concealer or foundation stick to match skin. Powder very well and try not to rub it with clothing.
*

Always blend your edges. And then blend some more. Check your blush in natural light. In the evening apply a little extra or a more striking color to compensate for artificial lights.
*

Shake or tap the blush brush before you apply the color to your face.
*

* For more mature skin use iridescent shades sparingly and mostly on lid but never in a crepy area of the eye or cheek.
*

When in doubt, less is best.
*

You can go over too much blush with a little dual finish foundation powder to soften
*

Sometimes we think we need more blush than we do. Apply just a little blush at first, then go on to eyes and lips. Once you are done with your entire makeup stand back, look in the mirror and see if you need a little more blush to balance the look. Same goes for eye makeup.. apply mascara and liner before going “whole hog excessive” in applying smoky shadows.
*

Refresh your blush at the end of the day for that Scarlet O’Hara pinched cheek look.
*

Use a round tip blush brush and apply to the apple of the cheek. Blend your edges with a sponge.
*

When using powdered brow color, use a stiff bristled angle brow brush and draw tiny hair-like strokes. When using a brow pencil, maintain a sharp edge and use the same technique as the brush. Use a disposable mascara wand to soften.
*

If you have lines above your lips, use a lipliner pencil before lipstick. That will keep your lipstick from bleeding. Only use gloss on the lower lip and press lips together. For longer lasting lip color fill the lip in with pencil and add lipstick sparingly. For best coverage, no bleeding and long wearing apply one of the 8-12 hour lip paints. They don’t move until you remove with long wearing makeup cleanser or a petroleum product. Use the accompanying lip gloss for moisture on the lips.
*

To ward off fall out from too much product on your brush, give the brush a tap on the sink or counter before applying shadow or blush.
*

If you have puffy eyelids don’t use iridescent or pearl shadows in light colors or white. Use softer, matte colors.
* Try the new Long Wearing Lip Paints like Max Factor or Cover Girl. Be sure to purchase the remover for long wearing makeup or use a petroleum product like Vaseline.

* In dry climates, as well as on an airplane, use an herbal water spray on your face or Evian Mist.

* Apply body creams and oils on damp skin. It will hold moisture better.

Beginner’s Airbrush Makeup Advice

When flipping through a magazine adorned with celebrities, you may wonder how it is that their skin stays so flawless throughout red carpet events and movie shoots. Even with all of the lights shining on them and any vigorous activities on set, their skin remains perfect and unchanged from the workout. While makeup is the obvious answer, it is airbrush makeup that helps conceal any blemishes or flaws in their skin.

How To Contour With Airbrush Makeup

This technique of applying makeup was initially used in 1958 to give celebrities a tan look but it has grown in popularity, now being used to apply just about any type of makeup, from lip color to blush. It is still a fairly new product and can be very expensive and time consuming to master. If you are still interested in achieving this beautiful flawless appearance at home, then follow these simple guidelines and you’ll be airbrushing like a professional.

There are two separate forms of airbrushing available- one which needs to be mixed with water and is more liquid based, or in a complete airbrush makeup kits that are ready to go. Beginners should choose the kit because it is the most simple to understand and use at home. When using the kit at home, be sure to go slowly and take your time applying the airbrush pen. Using too much color in one spot means that you will need to cover the entire face thoroughly, which can give your skin a caked-on fake appearance. The trick is to give your skin a natural glow that covers any flaws completely.

When applying the makeup, it is important to go in steps. The first is to spray on foundation over your entire face, but be sure not to touch your eyes. Let the foundation set for a few minutes before you apply a second layer or add any other makeup. The rest of the application is pretty straight forward, but be sure to clean the air gun out completely before using another product. Along with that, be sure you are letting each layer of makeup dry before applying more.

Following these simple tips for airbrush makeup will give you that beautiful finished look you see all of the celebrities with. Be patient and try different methods to create a look that is perfect for you.

Applying Airbrush Makeup for the First Time

Airbrush makeup is an innovative evolution in the art of applying makeup. Simply stated, special foundation that is designed to be airbrushed, or sprayed on, is mixed with water, then sprayed in a very fine mist on the face. The amazing thing about airbrush makeup kits is that, as any person who has experience spray painting will tell you, airbrush produces a very even, natural looking finish with almost no effort. Another advantage is that while the coverage itself is denser, you are actually wearing less makeup on your face, making you look more natural, and allowing your pores to breathe a little bit more. You will be less likely to get clogged pores and acne outbreaks wearing airbrushed makeup.

Because airbrushing makeup on is more like painting than applying makeup, it can be used to provide much better coverage of facial imperfections, like freckles, birthmarks, redness, acne, and under-eye darkness than even the thickest, manually applied foundation can. It also is so opaque that you won’t need additional concealer, powder, or anything else to “set” the foundation – your skin is good to go once you’ve applied a single layer of airbrush foundation.

Much like a professional airbrush makeup artist, all you need to get incredible yet natural-looking coverage every day is a specialized compressor that will supply the foundation “mist”, an airbrush wand for actually applying the makeup, and the special foundation. The compressor itself can cost as much as several hundred dollars, but it should last for many years, and typically the more expensive versions will produce makeup results identical to the perfect faces you see in Hollywood, so you truly are paying for quality results.

When applying the makeup, hold the airbrush pen a little less than a foot from your face, close your eyes, and move the wand in gentle circles slowly all around your face. Don’t rush the process, but don’t hold the wand still either, or you’ll have visible foundation buildup in that one area. After waiting a couple of minutes after you finish, examine your skin and see if you want another layer, which should be the maximum you will need. It will take a few tries to get the application process perfect, but you should be able to go out wearing your very first airbrush foundation, because the process is truly that simple. Just move the wand slowly and deliberately, and you’ll get lovely, even coverage on your face.
