The simplest way to get rid of the roughness in your hands is to massage them with vegetable oil once a week, or after each day of intense manual labor.

Many people use bleaching kits which are available, at medical stores and chemist shops. Avoid using cosmetics like Fair& Lovely, Forever etc as these creams just have bleach mixed with lubricating creams so in the long run it could prove harmful.

A more complex and effective to use a blend of lemon juice and rose water in fresh butter. Rub down your hands for extra smoothness.

To get rid of darkness on finger joints, use a mixture of lemon juice in barley powder. It is recommended to do this twice a month.

Cucumbers are also known for their smoothing characteristics. Use cucumber and massage your hands with the mixture.

A daily application of the mixture of sandalwood and rose water-cools your skin as well as brings a fair glow to you.

Massaging the areas with mustard oil can be a good way to get rid of the darkness. Right after shower, massage some oil on the affected area. Rinse it off, using warm water.
